Virtual Sportsmen’s Update: Register Now!

On Monday, October 26, State Senator Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) will be hosting his annual sportsmen’s update with special guest, Illinois Department of Natural Resources Director Colleen Callahan. The virtual event will serve as an informational update for hunters and anglers throughout Southern Illinois.

WHO:  State Senator Dale Fowler – District 59
Colleen Callahan, Director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources

WHAT: Virtual Sportsmen’s Update

WHEN: Monday, October 26 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This virtual event will be hosted by Sen. Fowler to provide an update on new laws, important dates and updated tag information. Information will also be provided on IDNR’s “Learn to Hunt” program, which provides education and training workshops to teach adult participants how to hunt.

“This event has served as a helpful educational opportunity to bring updated information to the sportsmen in our region in the past, and I’m looking forward to partnering together with Director Callahan to host this event again this year,” said Sen. Fowler. “As we continue to confront the daily realities of COVID-19, we can host this virtual event safely and ensure that we provide the helpful information needed to keep hunting season safe and fun for our local hunters, anglers and trappers.”

Additionally, Director Callahan and Sen. Fowler will also be providing an update on state park improvements happening across the region.

“Hunters, trappers and anglers play an important role in our conservation efforts across the state,” Callahan said. “Any chance to speak with them, answer their questions and ask some questions of my own is always a welcome opportunity.”

Interested participants should register to attend by e-mailing lcaspar@sgop.ilga.gov or calling (217) 782-2096. A link for the virtual update will be sent out October 26, prior to the event.

Additional questions can also be directed to Sen. Fowler’s District office by calling 618.294.8951.
