Illinois’ current income tax filing deadline is April 15. Recently, the federal government has already pushed back the income tax filing deadline from April 15 to July 15.
State Senator Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) issued the following statement urging Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker to do the same:
“Given the current challenges and hardships many of our residents are confronting each-and-every day, we should be seeking to provide whatever relief possible to our taxpayers and businesses. I would encourage the governor to extend the state’s income-tax filing deadline just as the federal government has done.”
