Fowler reappointed as Minority Spokesperson for Commerce Committee, takes on new leadership role in Higher Education

State Senator Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) will take on the new position as Minority Spokesperson for the Senate Higher Education Committee, as well as continuing in his current leadership position on the Commerce Committee in the 102nd General Assembly.

“I’m honored to continue in my role as the Minority Spokesperson for the Commerce Committee, representing the interests of Illinois businesses and pushing for future economic development in our state at a time when growth and expansion are critical,” said Senator Fowler. “I’m also looking forward to taking on the challenge of being the Minority Spokesperson on the Senate Higher Education Committee. The 59th District is home to SIU and a number of our state’s community colleges, and I recognize the importance of being a vocal advocate for our higher education community in state government.”

Senator Fowler has served as the Commerce Committee minority spokesperson since 2016. Senator Fowler has also been appointed to serve as a member of the Education, Energy & Public Utilities, and Transportation committees for the ongoing General Assembly.
